This is a series of 5 mixed media images inspired by a cherry blossom photo that I took in Tokyo. 

Along with the images is a short story reflecting my feelings when I moved from Tokyo to New York to start college, as well as the change from childhood to adulthood.

To show the blend between Japan and America, I created my own alphabet by adapting the Japanese (hiragana) characters to the english one. For example, if a japanese character resembled an "A", then I would use that character as an "A".
